IMRE SIIL is an Estonian diplomat and writer. He studied at the Estonian Academy of Agriculture, Tartu University. He worked as a researcher at the Institute of Cybernetics within the Estonian Academy of Sciences, and was also a lecturer in phonetics at the University of Tartu. Later, after the restoration of Estonia’s independence he worked as the Director of the State Chancellery of the Republic of Estonia and Director of the Estonian Informatics Center. He was also one of the founders and developers of the Estonian e-government. Since 2004 he has worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has represented Estonia in the Council of Europe and worked as a diplomat at Estonian Embassy in Helsinki, Finland. Since 2017 he has been First Secretary and Consul at the Estonian Embassy in Bucharest. Imre Siil is a member of the Estonian Writers’ Union.
